Our apartments are named after two wellknown alps in the Giesertal! The numerous alps are characteristic for our valley. They do not only offer wonderful hiking tours, but also typical local food!
The Versellalm: The origin of Versell is the Latin word Vallesella which means connecting valley. The Versellalm and the respective valley are indeed a connection, a connection to the Villgratental. Both Tyrolean valleys, Gsies and Villgraten, have had a close relationship since ever.
The Pidigalm: The origin of Pidig is the Celtic word Pudio. Pudio was the historical name for the creek of the entire Gsiesertal. From the 16th century onwards the denomination is changed to the German Gsieserbach. Pidig continued to be used just for the areas around the source. This is where the Pidigalm is.
